Lakeland Brewhouse has worked with Best of British Beer to produce a ‘bitter with a twist’ in time for the Christmas market.

Kirsty Ridge, managing director of Lakeland Brewhouse, said: “We are always keen to experiment and try new things with our brewery, and collaborating with Best of British Beer has been a brilliant experience.
“I’m extremely proud of the team’s hard work to create what we have decided to call Frostbite Bitter. It is wonderfully traditional in terms of its taste, and is the perfect drink for cold winter days.”
Will Sherwin, co-founder of Best of British Beer, said they were after a “rich, malty beer that reflected the changes in seasons”.
He added: “Best of British Beer is celebrating its tenth birthday this year, and as part of our celebrations we’ve been working with some of our favourite breweries to produce a series of collaboration brews.
“The beer we asked Kirsty and the team at Lakeside Brewhouse to come up with was their take on the classic English best bitter. As the nights draw in and the mercury starts to fall, we wanted a rich, malty beer that reflected the changes in the seasons. We’re delighted that the brewing team at Lakeland have come up with this cracker of a winter beer.”
Deep copper in colour, Frostbite Bitter is 4.2% ABV and will be featured in Best of British Beer’s Beer for a Year subscription scheme for November. It was also be sold across Lakeland Inns’ five pubs in Cumbria.
