Luna Brews, a new joint venture between White Horse Brewery and Titanic Brewery, is set to bring pub-goers ‘out of this world’ flavours with its new beers.

Using the latent creative talent that the Luna team has recognised can be found in Britain’s pubs, their main goal is to create the universe’s best brews with the public. This initiative is set to help demystify the brewing process, and promote responsible drinking in local community pubs.

Members of the public can use their knowledge and tastebuds to take the bold step into the brewery and create their own Luna Brew. Those who take the challenge are named ‘mashtronauts’ and will have the opportunity to spend the day learning about the craft of brewing before putting it into practice.

If creating your own beer to bottle wasn’t enough, all mastronauts will have their name inscribed on a new honours board in the Royal Blenheim, the pub of the White Horse Brewery in Oxford.

To launch this new experience, former chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, Andrew Griffiths MP, spent the day at the White Horse Brewery to create his own Luna beer.

His knowledge and passion for beer meant that he was the ideal candidate for the first Luna mission. He was a key member in removing the beer duty escalator, and is a champion of keeping pubs as is the beating heart of the community.

Andrew said: “This project allows those of us who love beer and pubs to fully understand how life is breathed into new beers. It’s a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone. I will be taking a few bottles of the finished product back to Burton for my friends to enjoy!”

Keith Bott, of Titanic Brewery, said: “If any MP understands our great industry better than Andrew, I am yet to meet them. We wanted to find a way to thank him for his tireless effort on behalf the UK brewing industry so when this opportunity arose we made contact immediately.”

Andy Wilson, of White Horse Brewery, added: “We’re proud of our new venture and excited to see what our mashtronauts create with us. I can’t wait to add more names under Andrew’s on the honours list.”
