The Tap, on Derwent Street, Derby
Derby Brewing Company is hosting a New Year tap takeover combining a Manchester brewing icon and one of the latest craft breweries.
It all takes place at the brewery’s two city centre venues, The Tap on Derwent Street, and The Greyhound on Friar Gate.
Marble Brewery was established in 1997 and has earned legendary status in Manchester. All its beers have been organic and vegan since 2000.
Originally famous for cask, it has now embraced craft and is especially known for its stouts. Many of Manchester’s new wave of craft brewers learned their trade at Marble before setting up other iconic breweries, such as Cloudwater.
Finest fresh ingredients
Wander Beyond Brewing has been going less than a year, but has already caused a stir in the Manchester brewing scene. It is currently ranked the ninth best brewery in England on Untappd and is very innovative, using the finest fresh ingredients in its brews.
Twenty different beers from these breweries will be served across The Tap and Greyhound from December 27 through the new year. This will be the first time these beers have been sold in Derby.
Paul Harris, managing director of Derby Brewing Company, said: “We enjoy sourcing beers from other leading breweries to offer our pub customers something new and exciting, and to complement our Derby Brewing beers.
“We love spending New Year’s Eve in our favourite pubs, trying different beers, so thought it would be great to round off 2018 with a big tap takeover across both of our city centre pubs so that people in Derby can spend the days after Christmas and into the New Year sampling a wide range of excellent beer.
“It’s really exciting to be the first people in Derby to showcase these two renowned Manchester breweries together in a tap takeover.”
