NEWS IN BRIEF
• Bluntrock has added Yop Rock, its 0.5% ABV lager, to its core range. It features a groundbreaking, natural, yeast-derived aroma solution, designed to enhance the flavour profile of low- and no-alcohol beers. Yops usage has been developed by Lallemand Brewing, a global leader in yeast science and production, and EvodiaBio.
• St Ives Brewery have revealed an alcohol-free version of their popular IPA, Slipway. “We carefully crafted this heavily-hopped 0.5% beer to quench the thirst of those who want hops, juice, and everything else, but no alcohol,” says the brewer. “It is still the juicy-style IPA you know and love, but is now without alcohol.”
• Sundowner X (6.5% ABV) is the latest version of Padstow’s popular NEIPA. “We’ve returned to North American hops for this iteration,” says the brewer, “using a combo of El Dorado, Idaho 7, Cashmere, and Mosaic along with the same extra fruity yeast variety we used for Sundowner 9.”
• Too early? It’s Clichéd to be Cynical at Christmas has arrived from Verdant. “A fresh 6.5% ABV IPA loaded with the finest lots of Mosaic, Galaxy, and Strata, of course,” says the brewer. “Expect waves of passionfruit, orange pith, and fruit juice-dipped hashish.”
