Brewhouse Kitchen Lichfield

Brewhouse & Kitchen has added to its nationwide portfolio with the launch of a brewpub in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

Following an extensive refurbishment project, Brewhouse & Kitchen Lichfield is now open within the former Gatehouse, at the top of Bird Street in the city centre.

Boasting its own microbrewery and a dedicated brewer, it produces a range of its own beers, available alongside an impressive list of craft beers and creative beer-based food menu.

Following a vast renovation, the new design stays true to the Brewhouse & Kitchen style with reclaimed wood, large barrel tables and bottle lights throughout. A copper microbrewery takes centre stage on the ground floor, alongside an open kitchen where guests will be able to watch the chefs at work.

A striking stairway leads to a dining room located on the first floor, which houses two bookable private dining areas. Alfresco drinking and dining areas located at the front and rear of the venue are decorated with fairy lights, a chimenea and a retro Mini Cooper garden seat.

As a group, Brewhouse & Kitchen produces more than 285 unique craft beers and the Lichfield site’s head brewer will produce a range of five core beers, in the microbrewery, to be available throughout the year and an additional eight, seasonally-changing variations. An additional Brewer’s Choice pump will enable the brewer to be inventive and creative.

In addition to the beers brewed on site, the drinks list boasts an additional 50 craft beers and ciders from breweries across the world. A playful selection of ‘beertails’ also feature on the menu, offering a beer-based twist on well-known classics.

With a passion to make craft beer accessible to all, Brewhouse & Kitchen Lichfield offers two academy experiences: a two-hour beer masterclass, carried out by the resident beer expert, and a day-long brewery experience, run by the brewer.

Designed by executive chef, Tom Bew, the food menu incorporates several beer-based dishes, including a selection of indulgent burgers, served in a sourdough beer bun and topped with home-made IPA-cured pickle, a cask ale relish, and a portion of fries tossed in a garlic and hop salt.

Brewhouse & Kitchen managing director, Simon Bunn, said: “We are delighted to be bringing our Brewhouse & Kitchen concept to Lichfield, following on from the success of opening in nearby Sutton Coldfield. We look forward to making craft beer accessible here, as well as boosting employment opportunities in the city.”
