Track Brewing Co has launched a Digital New Zealand series of beers, partnering with not just an NZ brewer for each beer, but also a hop supplier from that country.
The series follows another from last year which shone the spotlight on Australian businesses.
First off the blocks this year is No Ordinary Sun, an 8% ABV DIPA hopped with Motueka, Motueka Cryo, NZH 101, Nectaron, and Nelson Sauvin.
The partners for this brew are Parrotdog, a Wellington Brewery set up by three friends in 2011, and Mac Hops, a fifth generation hop farm business, harvesting more than 15 varieties across 115 hectares.
So how’s the first brew? “Picture this, a daisy-fresh DIPA that takes your tastebuds on a first class flight to Wellington, NZ…” says the brewer.
“A bright aroma swirls around the glass. Over-ripe pineapple flesh and shredded lime zest jump out in abundance. Upon the first sip, freshly muddled mojitos at the beach bar unite with the juice of tinned peaches and pulpy passionfruit. A tropical vacation for the palette like no other.”
