Verdant has decided that its Travellers Series, developed earlier this year to celebrate ten years of international collaborations, is to become an ongoing project.
A trip to Spain this year, from Galicia to Madrid, and then on to Girona, mean that this will be the next country to feature.
The Verdant guys had met met Judit and Michael, from DosKiwis Brewing, during a tap takeover at Café El Birrot back in 2023, then visited their brewery the following day. After that visit, Judit and Michael invited Verdant over to their home of Rupià to brew a collaboration during their next trip to Spain.
They were invited back to Cornwall for a return brew and the result is Rupià, an IPA packed with Motueka, Riwaka, and Citra. Expect citric tropics, limes and hedgerow funk.
Verdant also met the KOM Beer team during a tap takeover at Chuggle’s, a bottleshop and bar in Girona. KOM is a small independent brewery, located in Manlleu, a few miles away from Barcelona.
Again, a Cornwall collaboration was arranged, this time a massive DIPA, Manlleu, described as “a monster of a beer”.
Both beers are available now on the Verdant website.
