Yorkshire brewer T&R Theakston has launched an alcohol-free version of its famous Old Peculier beer, called Nowt Peculier.

First brewed in Masham in the early 19th century, Old Peculier is the flagship brand of the family-run company. Its name is a tribute to the unique ecclesiastical status of the town as a ‘court of the Peculier’, first established in medieval times.

Thanks to advanced filtration technology, Theakston has preserved everything that’s made Old Peculier the iconic pint it is, minus the alcohol. Meticulously brewed using the original recipe and brewing methods, this rich-flavoured, dark ruby ale captures the complex character of its classic counterpart, says the brewer.

Brewed with the traditional Fuggle hop alongside Challenger and Progress bittering hops, Nowt Peculier offers subtle notes of cherry and banana, complementing a bitter finish.
