Shepherd Neame has seen good progress in all three divisions of its business, says its chief executive, revealing preliminary results for the year to 29th June.
“We have great beers and pubs, a strong balance sheet, and a well-balanced and cash-generative business,” said Jonathan Neame (pictured).
“We have a strong pipeline of pub developments and new opportunities in our heartland on-trade. We are optimistic about the consumer outlook and are well positioned for the future, notwithstanding the ongoing cost headwinds we face.”
Revenue at Shepherd Neame grew by 3.6% to a record £172.3m (up from £166.3m in 2023) while profit before tax grew by 38.1% to £6.8m.
Interestingly, beer profits were up, but volume was down, as the business pivots from off-trade to drive growth in the higher margin on-trade.
