The Leeds International Beer Festival is drawing near, and this year not only will Amity Brew Co be pouring there, but they’ve also produced the official festival beer.
Tempus (4.3% ABV) is a double-dry-hopped pale ale, described by the brewer as “punchy, but deliciously sessionable”.
Simcoe, Centennial, and Mosaic combine to give that sticky resinous aroma, but the stars of the show are Cryopop and Nelson Hop Kief, which explode with juicy tropical flavours of passionfruit and guava.
On brew day, the Amity team were joined by festival organisers Maz and Daz. The resultant beer was named Tempus. Why.?
“Well, tempus fugit is Latin for ‘time flies’,” said the brewer. “We can’t believe we are at the 12th incarnation of this amazing festival, so this beer honours that, and also the friends and the beer that we’ve shared over the years in the Town Hall and now Kirkstall Abbey.”
Leeds International Beer Festival takes place from 5th-8th September. As well as a huge range of beers, there will also be a street food market and live music. Find out more about the festival here.
