Award-winning beer writer Adrian Tierney-Jones returns with a new book this autumn, a lyrical and astutely observed meditation on the beauty and mysteries of the British pub.
In A Pub for All Seasons, Adrian embarks on a year-long journey filled with the unique sights, sounds and senses of the ever-changing pub landscape through each season.
The book features an abundance of pubs and breweries across the country, from Totness to Inverness, and from favourite locals to hidden gems off the beaten track.
As the world opened up post-Covid, Adrian’s love for the British institution that is the pub burned brighter. He promised himself he would travel around the UK in search of the best pub.
Adrian speaks to locals and landlords, hears unique sounds and stories, and samples food, drink, and atmosphere. He watches the wild and beautiful similarities and differences between pubs, and notices how they all shift, tonally, throughout the year.
A Pub for All Seasons, a Year-long Journey in Search of the Perfect British Local, will be published on 12th September by Headline.

Bursting with vibrant flavours from hot-side hops Citra and Nelson Sauvin, and finished with a cold-side charge of Motuaka, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin, the brewer describes this beer as “a refreshing and aromatic delight”.
To tie in with the release of the film Alien Romulus, Siren Craft Brew has introduced an exclusive run of its red berry sour beer, Something in the Water. “We load it up with cherries and red berries for delicious, refreshing fruitiness, and tangy sweet and sour flavours,” says the brewer.
