Average monthly gigs organised by GigPig now stand at around 4,000 UK-wide, up from 700 in June 2023.

The platform has also welcomed its 7,000th artist this month, highlighting its ability to offer artists meaningful work gigging in pubs, bars, and restaurants. More than 1,500 venues are now using the platform to book gigs and grow their business with live music.

“It’s incredible to see our dream become a reality,” said GigPig co-founder Kit Muir-Rogers. “We have increased the number of venues growing with live music significantly, and this has helped create gigging opportunities for more than 7,000 artists.

“We’re starting to see the impact this is having in towns and cities across the country, with live music increasingly part of local pubs and bars offerings, while hundreds of artists are signing up to GigPig every week to earn some extra money gigging.

“Given ongoing challenges facing both venues and artists, our mission to help turn every venue into a stage is more important than ever.”

NEWS IN BRIEF

Left Handed Giant has collaborated with One Drop Brewing Co, of Sydney, on Everlasting Embers, an 8% ABV hazy double IPA, hopped with Citra, Superdelic, and Peacherine. One Drop utilises a brewing technique called Clean Fusion which introduces a dry-hop charge to centrifuged ‘clean’ beer, then sends it through the centrifuge for a second time, retaining flavour and aroma, without compromising on the nuances of hop varieties. Also new from Left Handed Giant are When It Counts, a 5.5% ABV hazy pale, hopped with Citra, El Dorado, and Amarillo, and its latest gluten-free Twin Cities pale, hopped with Nelson and Citra.
