A trio of breweries are coming together to present the Tripel Alliance beer festival in Lewes, East Sussex, this August.

Harvey's beer festival

Harvey’s Brewery will be the host on 9th and 10th August, and will be joined by Burning Sky Brewery, from just down the road, and Brasserie de la Senne, based in Brussels.

There will be more than 20 beers to try from the three breweries, in cask and keg formats, as well as a collaboration brew they have created.

Some time ago, Mark Tranter of Burning Sky, and Yvan De Baets, of Brasserie de la Senne dropped in on Miles Jenner at Harvey’s while Yvan was visiting Sussex. During a sojourn in the Sample Room, the thought was voiced that they should plan a collaborative brew, entwining elements of all three breweries in a beer that would be entirely distinctive from anything they produced individually.

The Covid intervened and the idea was lost until Mark, prompted by Yvan, re-ignited the initiative in an email that the three men readily responded to. A further 12 months on, it is about to become a reality.

Tripel Alliance has a grist of Pale and Munich malts, together with spelt and oats. Four different German hops, encompassing a range of traditional and new varieties, are introduced at five separate stages. It is being brewed with Harvey’s spring water and yeast.

In addition, South Downs Cider will bring ciders to the event, and there will be several food options, too.

The festival will take place across three sessions, and tickets are available via the following links:
