Best known for its range of lagers, Utopian Brewing has launched Wondrous Isles, its first West Coast-style modern pale ale.

“We started brewing a limited range of cask ales a while back and have really enjoyed that, so it just felt like the right time to extend that into a keg and can range of modern ale styles,” said Utopian founder Richard Archer.
“We have stuck rigidly to our core values of natural brewing, using traditional techniques and zero additives, with only 100% British-grown ingredients.
“I think the team have done an amazing job creating an easy-drinking punchy beer with genuine ‘Westie pale’ credentials.”
Head brewer Jeremy Swainson said: “It was great fun taking our British Pale cask beer and vamping it up into a modern pale ale. We are super happy with the beer, and to us it has lashings of stonefruit, citrus, and pine, finishing crisp and bitter.”
The beer was pre-released at the Highlights and Gottwood music festivals, where it was well received. It is now available for trade orders in 30-litre kegs and 440ml cans, or via the online webshop.
As the launch coincides with the start of the Euros, the brewery will be announcing a series of promotions and social media competitions as the tournament progresses.
