Edinburgh craft brewery Cold Town Beer has announced it will be the exclusive beer partner at the prestigious Edinburgh City 7’s event this summer.
The collaboration aims to enhance the celebration of sportsmanship by offering a premium selection of refreshing brews for spectators.
The brewery has also upped the stakes with a year of free beer up for grabs at the finish line for the winning team for the men’s open.
Established in 2018, the Edinburgh City 7s event has quickly evolved into a dynamic weekend-long celebration of sport, attracting elite-level international rugby, hockey, and netball teams as well as some of Edinburgh’s best food and drink vendors and live music performers.
The 2024 event, which will be hosted at Peffermill on the 15th and 16th June, expects to welcome more than 5,000 guests.
“This collaboration embodies our shared values for community and craftsmanship, and we are honoured to have been asked to support as headline beer sponsor this year,” said Louise MacLean, business development director at Cold Town Beer.
“We have a proven passion for sports, and Edinburgh City 7s promises to be an unforgettable weekend for athletes and spectators. We can’t wait to raise a pint on the sidelines in the spirit of competition.”
As beer partner, Cold Town Beer will serve a selection of its beers at the craft beer bar, including its LAB Range, Session Pale Ale, Pineapple Rabbler, Blood Orange, and Passionfruit Sour by 71 Brewing. The brewer will also be pouring Doddie Bier in the famous Edinburgh City 7s beer tent.
On Thursday and Friday, 13th and Friday 14th June, Signature Group, parent company of Cold Town Beer, will also be offering 20% off at selected venues when drinkers present a Edinburgh City 7s team ticket. This offer will be valid at Cold Town House, The Black Bull, Element, The Queens Arms, The Fountain, and McLarens on the Corner.
