The Mother’s Day weekend saw the pub group, with sites across the south of England, cater nearly 8% more covers than last year with families coming out in force to treat the mother figures in their lives.

This year, both Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March proved equally popular, with those celebrating equating to an increase in food sales of more than 29%.

“We’re delighted with such a strong start to the spring/summer season,” said Jayson Perfect, chief operating officer at parent company Liberation Group.

“Mother’s Day is a big deal and one of the first seasonal sale markers of the year, so to beat our own past records is something to be very proud of.

“Our chefs and teams worked hard to put together a beautifully curated menu sure to impress mothers everywhere, and it paid off. Seeing our pubs full of people enjoying themselves is what we love most and bodes well for the year ahead.”

Similarly, Butcombe Pubs & Inns’ sites in and around Cheltenham were fully booked both in terms of accommodation and dining, with race-goers choosing to stay for the duration of the Cheltenham Festival, which ran from 12th to 15th March.

Jayson added: “Our Gloucestershire pubs were packed to the rafters with racing fans from all over the world, here to enjoy everything the iconic Cheltenham Festival has to offer.

“We were delighted to look after them with superb accommodation, excellent food, and our award-winning beer, and it was great seeing everyone coming together and enjoying themselves.”
