The new taproom, named Pretty Decent & Friends, will occupy the first-floor hospitality destination within Crate at 17& Central.

Boasting ten taps of ever-changing fresh craft beer, brewed locally at Pretty Decent’s Blackhorse Road brewery, the new site will feature weekly special releases. There will also be core favourites, such as I Could Get Better at T*sco For a Quid, a soft and juicy 4.5% ABV session IPA, paying homage to an early Google review.

“We’re super excited to be opening our third venue in the heart of Waltham Forest,” said co-founder Sarah Casey. “The brewery has grown up here, and the local community has played such a central part in getting us to where we are today.

“The name speaks to the fact that we’ll be working closely with some incredible street food vendors to create a community spot where you can come and hang out with your pals.”

Every Thursday, drinkers can attend Pretty Decent’s First Pour Thursday event and enjoy that week’s special release, and core beers, for £4 a pint. The brewery plans to collaborate closely with 17&Central’s street food vendors, presenting affordable food and drink deals along with tailor-made beer pairings for menu items.

Co-founder James Casey said: “We’re a brewery born and raised in Waltham Forest, and as local residents here also, Sarah and I think that the investment in this area is so important for the community. So we are thrilled at the chance to ensure it acts as a platform for independent, locally-made produce.

“We look forward to partnering with amazing food producers already there. And we’re going to have some fun with it. So watch this space for plenty of fresh beer, food pairings, karaoke, happy hour, and a general taste of Retail High Life!”

The team brews a huge range of beers a stone’s throw away, which will be cycled to the taproom on a weekly basis to reduce emissions.

The brewery’s commitment to giving back is at the forefront of its ethos, and every beer sold includes a donation to progressive causes which drive change. Over the past seven years, the brewery has championed various causes, including local food banks, mental health charities, and community football teams.
