The owner of multi-award-winning Scottish brewery Windswept has announced that the business will be closing its doors next month.

Windswept Brewing

“Over the last few years, the craft brewing industry has faced an increasing number of challenges that have had a significant impact on our viability as a business,” said owner Nigel Tiddy on social media. “With your help and a fantastic team we have battled through some difficult times.

“Unfortunately, spiraling energy and raw material costs, and falling sales throughout the craft beer industry, caused largely by the cost-of-living crisis, have left us in the position where we are no longer able to ride out the storm.”

He described the past 11 years as an “amazing adventure”, and noted, with pride, the huge number of awards the brewery has won.

“We are very proud of that, but mindful that none of this would have been achieved without the support of our customers and local community.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all of your support over the years. I am so grateful to all of our wonderful customers, our amazing staff and the support of our local community. Thank you for believing in us.”

The business will remain open for online sales until next Monday (29th January) and the tap room and shop will remain open until Sat, 3rd February. “If you’re able to, please come and join us for the last weekend at the tap room (2nd to 3rd February) to give Windswept the send-off it deserves!”
