Black Sheep Brewery has announced three new beer releases, including hazy pale ale Side Quest, its first foray into craft beer.

Black Sheep Side Quest

At 5% ABV, the craft brew combines a silky, oat-heavy malt base with liberal doses of Citra, Chinook, and Summit hops. It is described as “an exploration off the beaten track”.

Also new is Brewhouse Lager (4% ABV), designed to be sessionable and refreshing. Crafted using lager malt, classic German noble hops, and pure Yorkshire Dales water, it pours bright gold with a lively white head. There are gentle aromas of floral and citrusy hops, and it leaves a sweet, bready taste on the palate.

Black Sheep is also relaunching its iconic Finisher, one of its most popular seasonal beers, brewed to support the England team in the Rugby World Cup. The English Pale Ale comes in at 4% ABV and features a light, sweet malt base, packed with Ernest hops, bringing ripe apricot, juicy citrus, and subtle spice.

“At Black Sheep Brewery, we don’t just make great cask, we also make great beer,” said head brewer Dan Scott Paul. “That is why we’re proud to be launching our first craft beer, Side Quest.

“Inspired by our origin story, Side Quest is an exploration off the beaten track and symbolises a new era for our brewery here in Masham. Side Quest, alongside Finisher and Brewhouse Lager, are three exceptional beers made for easy drinking, wherever you are.”
