Titsey Brewing Co, the small, independent brewery on the Surrey/Kent border, has expanded into a new site, at the highest point of the North Downs Way.

Along with a larger space to brew more of its session-strength beers, it will have a taproom, open to the public from
Thursday 29th June, overlooking the Vale of Holmesdale on Clarks Lane Farm, near Tatsfield.

The taproom will have Titsey beers flowing four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Alongside its core beers — Gower Wolf (bitter), Gresham Hopper (pale ale), Leveson Buck (IPA), and Innes Lager — visitors can sample Titsey’s seasonal beers.

Some of these are exclusive to the taproom, such as its new non-alcoholic beer, and its own cider, Marmaduke, made in partnership with Kentish Pip. The bar will also stock a small selection of local spirits and a handful of wines.

Positioned atop the North Downs Way, the taproom will be the perfect pitstop while exploring the Surrey Hills. For those who have worked up an appetite as well as a thirst, Titsey has brought in chef Jay McMillan, who’s drawn on his love for the outdoors to create a sustainable menu using locally-sourced ingredients.

The taproom’s speciality dish will be peri-peri rotisserie chicken, served with sides such as Asian slaw, barley salad, and rosemary salted fries. Smashed patty burgers also feature, along with buttermilk chicken and a vegetarian option. Gluten-free guests will also be catered for.

For the early morning walkers and riders, coffee will be served from 9am at the weekend, along with a selection of brunch dishes. Ample bike rack storage will be available, and four-legged friends are welcome.

Brewery tours will be available to book via the Titsey website in the near future, and visitors to the taproom and brewery will be able to purchase a selection of merchandise and bottle packs to enjoy at home.

“This is a huge next step for Titsey Brewing Co,” said founder and head brewer, Craig Vroom. “Up until now, we haven’t been able to offer our supporters the opportunity to come in, chat to us, and see what we do and how we do it.

“This new site changes that, and we’re excited to be able to give our customers, local residents, and visitors to the North Downs, a great space to enjoy Titsey beers and a fantastic food menu, all with a brilliant view.

“In addition to the taproom, the new brewery is much bigger, so fans of Titsey can also expect to find us in more pubs across Surrey and Kent as we’re now able to brew more, and try out new, exciting brews.”
