10 Hours in LA has been launched by Round Corner Brewing. It has been brewed previously, but this time around it’s a Pacific pale ale.
The 5.2% ABV brew is Round Corner’s fourth Market Edition beer of 2023. It’s all about Pacific new world hop aromas, with a much softer bitterness compared to its previous style in 2022.
It’s a beer which is pleasantly dry hopped with two types of New Zealand hops — Riwaka and Motueka. Both are grown at the top of the South Island in New Zealand, and drive big tropical fruit aromas.
The beer is named after the infamous stopover all Kiwis make in Los Angeles on their way to the United Kingdom. It’s now the layover these New Zealand hops have made on the way to the brewery.
“This style of beer is all about pleasantly dry hopped beers, with New Zealand and Australian hops,” said Round Corner Brewing’s co-founder and head brewer, Colin Paige. “However, for 10 Hours in LA we’ve stuck to New Zealand hops, which we adore.
“For us, a Pacific pale ale is all about making a supremely approachable beer, where we’ve focused on big whirlpool hop and dry hop aromas. This year we’ve gone for a lighter malt base in colour and body to really let the hops shine, and there’s a high proportion of wheat in the malt grist to create a silky soft palate.
“This is a style we really love here at Round Corner Brewing, and you can expect to see more of this from us in the future.”
Co-founder and chief executive Combie Cryan added: “Launching 10 Hours in LA is a moment we’ve been counting down to as a brewery. For us, this beer has returned better than ever before, and with its re-style to a Pacific Pale Ale we think it’s taken it up another level.
“For us, we not only love the beer, but also the name, as it has a deeper meaning for Colin and I. Having both met and lived in New Zealand, we’re no stranger to this journey and, in fact, the Los Angeles layover. So it’s a beer which hits all the right points for us, and our team and customers, too.”
The beer is available in keg and can.
