To mark its seventh anniversary this month, Brew York has brewed collaboration beers with five leading international craft breweries.

Brew York Collabovision

The beers are available for pre-sale now, and will be pouring at the Brew York Seventh Birthday Brewery Bash tomorrow and Saturday (21st and 22nd April). They will then will be on general sale from Monday.

The series is themed with a nod to the upcoming UK-based Eurovision Song Contest and is named Collabovision. With a range of styles featured, the beers are designed to be the perfect Eurovision watch party accompaniment. The five beers in the series are:

  • Give That Wolf a Cherry (12% ABV) A cherry, cacao, tonka, and vanilla imperial milk stout, brewed with Lervig, Norway. It’s a slight twist on Give That Wolf a Banana, a song by British-Norwegian pop duo Subwoolfer that represented Norway in the 2022 contest 2022. One of the members of Subwoolfer is British singer-songwriter Ben Adams, of A1 fame.
  • Adrenalina (7% ABV) A rhubarb, orange, vanilla, ginger, and cinnamon pastry sour, brewed with Hidden Springs, Florida. Something of a curveball in the series. Obviously, America isn’t part of the Eurovision Song Contest. Adrenalina is a song by Italian singer Senhit who represented San Marino in the contest in 2021. Flo Rida joined Senhit on stage in the semi-finals performance and a new revamped version of Adrenalina, featuring credited vocals from Flo Rida, was released on 12th March, 2021.
  • Fernando and Filippo (8% ABV) An almond, chocolate, and tonka imperial white stout brewed with Moersleutel, Netherlands. A song of the same name was performed by Dutch singer Milly Scott at the contest in 1966. Milly was the first black singer to take part in the contest.
  • Colour of Your Life (6% ABV) A guava, banana, and passionfruit pastry sour brewed with Funky Fluid, Poland. This was the name of a song performed by Michał Szpak, which came eighth for Poland in 2016. Michał went on to become a coach on The Voice Poland after this, and released his second album.
  • Ghost (7.2% ABV) An Azacca, Harlequin, and Huell Melon IPA, brewed with Blech Brut, Germany. Ghost is a song performed by German singer Jamie-Lee Kriewitz, who represented Germany in the contest in 2016. It was also performed as Kriewitz’s winner’s single during season five of The Voice Germany.

All five breweries will be pouring alongside Brew York at the Brewery Bash event, taking place at the state-of-the art brewery and 65,000 sq ft taproom at Handley Park, Osbaldwick.

More than 100 beers will be pouring across the weekend, from Brew York’s best sellers to new and rare specials, as well as the new seventh birthday beers.

A programme of talks and tastings will take place and each of the guest breweries will be presented at the Brewery Bash. There will be a range of street food venders, entertainment, family-friendly games, and activities for children. Local coffee roaster, Divine, will also have a stand.

The Brewery Bash is split into three sessions: Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening. Tickets for Saturday afternoon are sold out. Find out more at brewyork.co.uk/brewery-bash.
