Chaos More Chaos, from Disruption is Brewing, has taken home the top cask beer award at the SIBA South East Independent Beer Awards.
The 5% ABV brew described by the brewery as a session New England pale ale. It impressed judges with big, bold flavours of mango, blueberry, and tropical fruit from the combination of hops used.
“It’s a New England style pale ale, and honestly we just try to cram in as much flavour as possible,” said head brewer, John Willatts, accepting the award.
“It’s a core range IPA and we’re honestly so chuffed to win this. To be a gold medal winner is amazing, but to win the overall amongst our peers is unbelievable. It’s a team effort and it’s just amazing that people appreciate it.”
The SIBA Independent Beer Awards take place in eight regions across the UK, and the winners, including Disruption is Brewing, will now go forwards to the national final at BeerX, in Liverpool.
Anneli Baxter, SIBA chair of competitions, said: “It’s incredibly tough to win your beer style category at the SIBA Independent Beer Awards. It is even harder to then go on and take the overall champion award in the final judging, and as such I would like to congratulate Disruption on a huge win in what was a hotly contested competition.
“To them and all of the other gold winners, congratulations and good luck in the national finals!”
