Mark Dredge is releasing a new book — Beer: A Tasting Course — an “appreciation of just how complex, mind-expanding and delicious the world of beer can be”.
With each tasting, the reader will learn to identify how aroma, taste, texture, and finish all combine to create the distinctive flavour profile of the particular beer style, says the publisher.
The course starts with a grounding in the range of flavours found in beer, and the art of detecting them. The book aims to help readers negotiate what is an icreasingly complex world of beer flavours.
The book also covers how beer is made, the science of brewing, history and future trends, and food pairings and cooking possibilities. There is a strong focus on ingredients and flavours. Each beer style description is accompanied by a flavour wheel.
