An app has been developed to help drinkers navigate their way around this week’s Burton Ale Trail, which gets under way on 1st September.

Burton Ale Trail

The app can be used to plan routes, check out venues in advance, and look at opening times, food, entertainment, and news.

For the duration of the trail, drinkers can scan in at every venue using a QR code. This unlocks badges on the app, and if you the trail you will be automatically entered into a competition for a chance to win beer at the next event in March.

Burton Ale Trail has teamed up with Real Ale Finder to give visitors access to live beer boards, so they can see exactly what is for sale in real time.

The app can be dowloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play.

The pubs are all within walking distance of each other making the trail, according to the organisers, “Burton’s premier pub crawl”.

“From more traditional to modern micropubs, brewery taps to an Edwardian club. We’ve got great pubs, we’ve got great beer, and we’ve got a great atmosphere!” says the team behind the venture.

A brilliant video has been produced, previewing the festival, which can be viewed below. Find out more about the event in the Burton Ale Trail Facebook group.
