Shepherd Neame chief executive, Jonathan Neame, has been installed as Master of the Worshipful Company of Brewers.
Jonathan previously held the position of upper warden. He was officially presented with his Master’s badge of office during an event held at Brewers Hall, in the City of London.
Also elected were: upper warden, James Staughton, president of St Austell Brewery; middle warden, Katherine Smart, technical director of Diageo; and the renter warden, Fergus McMullen, production and sales director at McMullen & Sons.
Jonathan said: “The Brewers’ Company has a long and important heritage in the brewing industry and undertakes a huge amount of valuable charitable work, distributing around £1.6million annually, principally for the benefit of schools and education in general.
“I am extremely proud to have been elected to the role of Master and look forward to leading the organisation during the year ahead.”
