A crowdfunding campaign for alcohol-free brewing specialists Mash Gang has had its target stretched after just one day.

Mash Gang

The brewers, who currently partner with Fierce Beer, in Aberdeen, set out to raise £10,000, but passed that target last night. The target has now been stretched to £30,000 and is already (at the time of writing) past the £11,000 mark.

The Gang said: “We’d be lying if we said we were not hopeful we would blow through the 10k target before the end. But we didn’t think it would be before the end of the first day.

“Now we have the opportunity to raise for a stretch goal, we are going to have a chat about what other perks we could add. We thank you all, this is just so wild.”

Mash Gang specialises in high-quality small-batchlow- and no-alcohol beers, always brewed to strength with premium ingredients.

The friends made their first beers during the first lockdown. They went so well a company was set up, and the Gang has since worked with the likes of Northern Monk, Gipsy Hill, and Allendale.

The campaign cash will be used for projects such as developing sour and barrel-aged beers, and experimenting with wild fermentation. They also want to undertake research into nitrogenation.
