Sharp’s Brewery has launched limited edition Rock ‘A’ Berry, a 4.5% ABV mixed fruit pale ale. It will go on sale on draught in four pubs, and online.
On Tuesday, 8th March, 15 of Sharp’s female employees got together to brew this one off, small-batch beer. This was part of a wider event, the International Collaborative Brew Day, in which female brewers across the world made a special beer to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Rock ‘A’ Berry has a base of extra pale malt and wheat to create a light-coloured beer with a crisp mouthfeel. The women involved each brought fresh fruit to mash into the brew, which, alongside new world hops, gives this light, easy-drinking ale its distinct flavour notes of citrus, mango, and berry.
The beer is available now at The Mariners in Rock, The Brendon Arms in Bude, The Front in Falmouth, and The Blisland Inn, near Bodmin. It is also available in five-litre mini-casks from Sharp’s online shop.
Sharp’s head brewer, Aaron McClure, said: “It is a delicious beer and feels very fitting for the changing of the seasons, so don’t miss out on trying it while stocks last. It was great to be a part of the International Collaborative Brew Day, which rightly celebrated the incredible women working within our brewing industry.”
