Shepherd Neame brand Bear Island is launching a Born To Roam campaign with explorers The Turner Twins.

Born to Roam

The multi award-winning beer range was launched in 2017, combining native British hops with hops imported from the US to create beers with bold and contemporary taste profiles.

It comprises Bear Island East Coast Pale Ale (4.8% ABV), Triple Hopped Lager (4.6% ABV), and Noughty Bear 0.5% IPA, which are distinctive in both flavour and design, with the bright colour palette reflecting their hop-forward profile.

The Turner Twins — Ross and Hugo — are professional adventurers who have pioneered a series of world-first expeditions, using technology to help fans learn more about the planet.

Motivated by near-catastrophe in 2007, when Hugo broke his neck while diving, the twins were propelled into the world of adventure and have explored some of the most extreme areas of the world together.

The Born to Roam campaign sees Ross and Hugo offering top adventuring tips and advice, along with behind-the-scenes access to their adrenaline-fuelled world through a series of films, stories, and events. These are being shared on Bear Island’s Instagram channel.

To support the campaign, Bear Island is giving its followers the opportunity to win hundreds of limited edition prizes on its social channels. One winner will receive a luxury one-night glamping stay for six people in Bear Lodge at Kent safari destination Port Lympne, home to more than 900 rare and endangered animals.

The luxurious hilltop retreat boasts spectacular views of the 600-acre reserve and overlooks Kent’s only spectacled bear habitat. The prize also includes a group safari, £500 spending money, and a year’s supply of Bear Island beer to share.

Bear Island’s marketing manager, Louise Buet, said: “We are really looking forward to launching our new partnership with The Turner Twins, which we hope will bring out the adventurous personality of Bear Island. We want to inspire our audience to discover the exciting flavours of our Bear Island range and enjoy new experiences.”

Ross Turner added: “We were thrilled to be approached by Bear Island to team up on this new campaign. After the challenges of the past couple of years, it is more important than ever for people to get outside and reconnect, and we cannot wait to inspire people to roam and explore the world with Bear Island.”
