Sharp’s Brewery has announced that it will be sponsoring Truro RFC, in Cornwall, for the remainder of this season.
The club has received a sponsorship package that includes Doom Bar branded rugby post protectors, feather flags, striking pitch branding, and PR support.
In addition, in an ongoing mission to reduce the use of single-use plastics Sharp’s, has donated 300 reusable plastic pint cups to Truro RFC, and spectators and club visitors will simply pay a deposit of £1 during matches and events. The sum will be paid back in full upon the return of the pint cup.
Over the next few months, Truro RFC is preparing to draw up plans for a new purpose-built clubhouse facility at the existing St Clements Hill site in Truro. The new building will ensure the club can continue to grow and provide an excellent facility for Cornish rugby development to the future.
Luke Trescothick, one of the directors of Truro RFC, said: “The clubhouse has served us well for the past 60 years, but we’re now beyond thrilled about the prospect of a new clubhouse facility and are really looking forward to continuing to develop long-term plans for the club. We’re extremely grateful to Sharp’s Brewery and Doom Bar for all its support this season, and are delighted to be associated with such a prestigious Cornish brand.”
Dai Griffiths, commercial director at Sharp’s Brewery added: “Our whole team at Rock is really enthusiastic about continuing our long history of supporting grassroots rugby in Cornwall. Truro RFC, with its 630 members, is clearly a thriving part of the local community and we’re honoured to be working alongside the club this season and to be aiding their elimination of single-use plastics with their new Doom Bar branded re-usable pint glasses.”
