Hawkshead cans

Hawkshead Brewery has launched its first two beers in can, both highly-hopped pale ales, one strong and one session strength.

IPA, at 7% ABV, is an American-style India Pale Ale, with a powerful blend of American and New Zealand hops.

Iti, described as little NZPA, is a 3.5% session version of the brewery’s premium-strength New Zealand Pale Ale. Iti is the Maori word for ‘little’. It is brewed with several varieties of hops from New Zealand.

Hawkshead’s head brewer, Matt Clarke, is a New Zealander who has specialised in brewing highly-flavoured complex beers using Kiwi hops. Both beers have been chill conditioned, and canned unfiltered and unpasteurised.

The new cans are launched today (October 27) at the brewery tap — The Beer Hall — and online at www.hawksheadbrewery.co.uk, as well as at Craft Beer Calling international beer festival (Newcastle), then available from Monday (October 31) to other trade outlets.
