Shepherd Neame are looking for a new tenant for Victorian property The Railway Hotel, in Faversham, which has been welcoming customers since the 1850s.

One of the first landmarks visitors see when arriving in the market town, the pub is a stone’s throw from Faversham station. It recently underwent a sympathetic refurbishment, with improvements including a refreshed centrepiece bar, new furniture, redecorated interiors, and renovated flooring.
Outside, the extensive courtyard provides a sun trap in the summer months, with its many picnic benches and outdoor bar. It is also a hive of live music, at weekends and especially during the Faversham Hop Festival.
There is also a restaurant area and kitchen, capable of serving up to 70 covers, as well as private accommodation with a lounge, kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms.
Prospective operators can choose between a traditional style tenancy agreement or Shepherd Neame’s recently launched Tenancy Partnership Agreement. This has been created to provide tenants with an enhanced level of support while they are running their pub.
Dan Sidders, Shepherd Neame’s head of tenanted business partnerships, said: “We believe The Railway has a fantastic future ahead of it, building on its rich history and strong reputation within the local community.
“The Railway represents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and hands-on publican, with strong food, drink, and accommodation experience, and a clear vision for marketing, events, and community engagement, to make their mark in Faversham.”
