Lumo, the Newcastle-based open access rail operator, has welcomed the region’s top business leaders to the exclusive launch of its bespoke new onboard beer, Brewmo.

The beer was crafted by Newcastle’s Full Circle Brew Co and is now available on Lumo’s all-electric East Coast Main Line services. These link Newcastle with destinations including London, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
The official launch took place at Full Circle Brew Co’s new taproom at Fenwick, the iconic Newcastle department store. Full Circle at Fenwick is home to 12 taps and two cask lines.
North East business leaders, community and sports groups, as well as guests from the tourism and cultural sector attended the event. There were also representatives from Lumo partners Newcastle Eagles, North East Screen, and North East Museums. The operator has a commitment to championing local sport, arts, and culture.
“Officially launching Brewmo gave us the perfect opportunity to invite key figures from across the region to try both the delicious beer and our exciting new taproom at Fenwick,” said Ben Cleary, founder of Full Circle Brew Co.
“Opening our first dedicated taproom has given us the opportunity to bring Full Circle to a completely new audience in the city centre. Bringing Brewmo to Lumo services has also given us a unique chance to give customers a taste of Full Circle on their travels between England and Scotland.”
Richard Salkeld, director of communications and partnerships at Lumo, added: “Collaborating with Full Circle Brew Co has been a joy, so it was only right that we officially launched Brewmo in style. Their new taproom at Fenwick is an impressive venue and another reason that our home city of Newcastle is one of the best destinations to visit.
“Brewmo is officially available onboard our East Coast services and I can’t wait for those travelling with us to try it.”
The launch follows Lumo’s announcement that it has also teamed up with Beartown Brewery, in Cheshire, to create a beer for its recently launched West Coast Main Line services, linking Stirling and London with destinations such as Preston and Carlisle. The Congleton-based brewery has created Lumo-nescence, an exclusive West Coast IPA.
