The Catherine Eddowes, owned by The Craft Beer Company, has opened on Mitre Street, in the City of London, following a refurbishment.

The name honours Catherine ‘Kate’ Eddowes, who was murdered outside the pub on 30th September, 1888, by the killer known as Jack the Ripper.
The name reflects the conviction that the women he murdered deserve to be remembered as people, not as footnotes to their killer’s story. The pub’s tribute puts it plainly: “His name became infamous. Hers deserves to be remembered.
“By placing her name above the door we hope to give her a lasting place in the everyday life of the City,” explain owners Martin Hayes and Peter Slezak. “Our ambition is to make the pub that bears her name one of the City’s finest, with outstanding drinks and a
warm, personal welcome that makes you want to return.”
The drinks list includes a vast wine and Champagne range, more than 300 spirits, including 100-plus malt whiskies and over 50 rare bourbons, plus cocktails, and 27 beers on draught, including nine real ales.
