Donnington Brewery has unveiled its latest beer, Cotswold IPA, a light and refreshing session IPA brewed in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The new 3.4% ABV beer is pale and easy drinking with a distinctive mango aroma and crisp, fruity character. Light-bodied but full of flavour, it has been created as a refreshing lower-strength IPA.

The beer was brewed by three generations of the Arkell family at Donnington Brewery. The first taste took place at The Red Lion Inn in Little Compton, one of Donnington’s pubs.

“It’s been great to see this new beer come together, and even better to finally taste it in one of our pubs,” said Donnington Brewery director John Arkell. “We’re really pleased with the result and hope our customers enjoy drinking it as much as we’ve enjoyed brewing it.

“As a historic family brewer, we continue to innovate while still retaining our traditional ways of brewing. It’s a very easy-drinking beer and I can see it going down extremely well in the pub.”

Donnington’s range is brewed at the historic brewery in Stow-on-the-Wold. Richard Arkell began brewing there in 1865, and the brewery has been owned and run by the Arkell family ever since. James Arkell, John Arkell, Oliver Arkell, Harry Arkell, and Fred Arkell were all involved in the brewing process for the new beer.

The brewery continues to produce beer using many of the traditional methods and features of the original brewery.

The new IPA is available in keg and has been introduced across Donnington’s pubs as part of the permanent range.
