Asda has launched its own exclusive beer brand, Asquith 1965, a seven-strong beer range bringing together respected breweries and distinctive beer styles.

From a 5% ABV traditional world lager and 6.8% ABV heritage cider, to rich Irish stouts and hop-forward hazy IPAs, Asquith has been created to deliver full flavour and quality brewing without the premium price tag.
Behind Asquith’s seven beers is a line-up of highly-regarded brewing partners, each bringing their own expertise and distinctive approach to the collection.
Heritage Orchard Cider is crafted by Westons, with apples sourced from within 40 miles of its mill. Brewed by fifth-generation cider maker Guy Lawrence, the 6.8% ABV cider taps into the growing appetite for heritage-style cider while celebrating generations of family expertise, also using 100% apple juice to deliver a fruity, balanced cider.
Irish Nitro Stout comes from Siren Craft Brew, the brewery behind Broken Dream, which was crowned Champion Beer of Britain at the 2018 Great British Beer Festival. At 4.1% ABV, Asquith’s stout delivers the rich, satisfying character expected from a quaffable Irish-style stout.
Meanwhile, Break the Cycle, a 4.3% ABV session IPA, comes from Leeds-based Kirkstall Brewery and carries a unique connection to Asda’s own history. Kirkstall’s brewery is housed in a former Associated Dairies warehouse, the business that would go on to become Asda, making the beer a meeting point between brewing heritage and modern craft.
The collection also includes Keep Rolling Hazy IPA and Stormy Maine Hazy NEIPA from Croatia’s acclaimed The Garden Brewery, with Asda the only major UK retailer to stock its beers. At 4.6% and 5.8% ABV respectively, the pair offer a crisp, easy-drinking haze as well as juicy, hop-forward flavour for more experienced craft beer drinkers.
Rounding out the collection are the Asquith 1965 Lager at 5% ABV, brewed with Damm at Eagle Brewery, and Session Best Bitter, 3.4% ABV, from Ossett Brewery in the heartland of Yorkshire, bringing traditional brewing expertise and familiar beer styles into a contemporary, value-led range.
“With more beer drinkers looking beyond traditional lagers and exploring craft, heritage, and flavour-led styles, Asquith gives our customers the chance to discover something new without the premium price tag,” said Ryan Truswell, beer and RTD buying manager at Asda. “Rather than simply competing on price, we’ve developed Asquith to offer more beer for your money, while still delivering real quality and character.
“We’ve worked with some fantastic breweries and brewing partners to create a range that has genuine provenance and great flavour behind every can. What’s particularly exciting is the breadth of the collection, Asquith is our way of showing that great beer should be accessible to everyone.”
