The Druid Inn, in Gorsedd, North Wales, welcomed more than 55 walkers on a recent community walk, the largest walking group the pub has hosted to date.

Druid Inn walkers

The pub holds a monthly walk on the first Saturday of every month. These are organised by the pub’s landlord, Ray Foulder-Jones.

For the most recent walk, guests were welcomed with a bacon butty. Dogs were treated to their very own Druid Inn home-made bone snacks, crafted specially for the occasion by the pub’s kitchen team.

The walk was held to launch a new series of walking maps and a walking passport. These are designed to encourage visitors to explore the stunning North Wales countryside while building a vibrant community of local adventurers.

Guests can pick up a map from the pub, featuring five scenic routes that all begin and end at The Druid Inn, making it the perfect activity for a day outdoors.

The initiative invites walkers to collect a physical Walking Passport from the bar, complete any of the official routes, tracked via apps such as OS Maps or Strava, and return to the pub to show proof of their journey, whether through a tracked route or a photo at a landmark. Once verified, participants are rewarded with a stamp in their passport, celebrating their progress and inspiring them to continue discovering the area. Once all stamps are collected, adventurers receive a pub discount to enjoy on food or drink.

“We can’t believe the response we’ve had!” said Foulder-Jones. “For me, it has always been about more than just a morning dog walk out. It is about reinforcing what a great local pub has always been for: bringing people together, creating memories, and giving everyone, including the dogs, a very tasty reason to come back!”
