It’s Balance Brewing and Blending’s third anniversary on Thursday and to mark the event they’re releasing three brews, including the now traditional Birthday Blend.

Balance Birthday beers

The 2025 edition was blended last year during Balance’s last birthday weekend and comprises an array of special beers from the barrel store. “It’s one of the funkiest and most complex beers we’ve made,” says the brewer.

There will be a new blend of Saison de Maison. Blend 12 uses Pilgrim, Golding, and Fuggle hops, each adding complexity to a funky base beer.

Finally, there’s a collaboration with Dolphin Brewery, Currant Affairs. This has been aged for “an exceptionally long time” on redcurrants to draw out intense and refined acidity and tannins from the fruit. There are just 60 bottles and a single keg, which will be pouring at the Manchester taproom this weekend.

The taproom will also have Birthday Blend 2024 on handpull, alongside the 2025 edition, and with some more aged beers on draught, too. It will be open Thursday to Sunday. Two ticketed events have sold out, but there are plenty of beers to try!
