Damm has launched Daura 0.0%, a premium, gluten-free, alcohol-free beer, in the UK, initially landing in Tesco stores this week.

Damm Daura

Daura is the most award-winning gluten-free lager in the world. Daura 0.0% offers the same flavour and character, says the brewer.

“We know from consumer insight that there is demand for beers that work for people managing dietary requirements, as well as those moderating their alcohol intake,” said Luke White, managing director of Damm UK.

“Daura 0.0% brings a world-class, certified gluten-free lager, that is the most awarded gluten-free beer, to the alcohol-free offering for the first time. We’re delighted to be launching it exclusively with Tesco, a partner that shares our passion for these niches.”

What sets Daura 0.0% apart from other products, is its brewing method, says the brewer. Rather than substituting gluten-containing grains with alternatives, Damm developed a proprietary enzymatic process: enzymatic hydrolysation and protein precipitation. It breaks down the gluten’s molecular chain while preserving the beer’s character. The alcohol is then gently removed by advanced vacuum distillation.
