It’s 60 years since England won the World Cup, and Greene King is marking the anniversary with one of the squad, and a beer called 60 Years of Hurst.

The beer, created in collaboration with Sir Geoff Hurst MBE, the last surviving member of that squad, is available exclusively to Greene King’s Pub Partners pubs across its leased, tenanted, and franchised sites.

It’s described as a super-refreshing 4% ABV golden pale ale. A moderately malty body is balanced with juicy citrus and tropical fruit notes. It will be available in both firkins and pins for Greene King’s Pub Partners.

Five pence from every pint sold will be donated to Diverse Abilities, a disability charity that supports those with profound physical and learning disabilities, and a cause that is close to Sir Geoff’s heart.

“60 Years of Hurst is a lovely, refreshing pint that’s perfect for watching the football with friends,” said Sir Geoff. “And I’m especially proud that it’s also helping to support Diverse Abilities, a charity that means a great deal to me.

“I hope people enjoy raising a glass this summer and supporting a really important cause at the same time.”

Greene King Pub Partners managing director, Dan Robinson, said: “This is a hugely exciting collaboration with an England legend that is truly unique and innovative in the partnership pubs space.”
