Hydes has confirmed the arrival of the second ale instalment in its year-long tribute to iconic hairstyles, with the release of Mullet Over.

The new seasonal ale will be available throughout February, landing on bars across the region just as the Six Nations rugby championship begins.
Throughout 2026, the brewery is celebrating creative haircuts through a series of characterful cask releases, each supported by bold pumpclip designs.
Mullet Over (4.2% ABV) is a dark brown premium brown ale. It features a complex foundation built from three different types of malts, which provide a deep toffee and roast aroma. On the palate, drinkers can expect a blend of biscuit, fruit, and roasted malt flavours.
While the malt profile provides traditional depth, Hydes’ brewing team has introduced a lift of citrus through the use of American hops to ensure a balanced and refreshing finish.

“Mullet Over arrives in February to continue the momentum we started with Hairy Porter last month,” said Adam Mayers, managing director of Hydes Brewery. “This dark brown premium ale is exactly what we had in mind for the start of the Six Nations because it carries the weight and feel of a proper match-day pint.
“Drinkers can expect a balanced brew that leads with toffee and roast aromas before opening up into a mix of biscuit and fruit on the palate.
“The goal with 2026’s seasonal range was to create a line-up that offers variety every month while encouraging conversation between Hydes’ bar teams and customers. We’re confident we’ve created a beer that is both traditional and refreshing and raises a smile to drinkers alongside offering a quality pint of ale.”
