Keystone Brewing Group has been purchased by the newly-formed Great British Drinks Company n a deal worth a total of £6.5 million.

Black Sheep Brewery

Keystone had been slowly acquiring a number of well-known breweries, including Black Sheep and Purity. However, towards the end of last year it said it had filed a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators as a proactive step to protect the future of the business.

All went quiet until now, with the brewing brands passing to Paramount, which purchased Saltaire Brewery in August 2024. Paramount is now part of a new company, Great British Drinks (GBD).

It looks as though the Saltaire team will be looking after the brewing side of GBD’s portfolio, which also includes food, home interior, and pet food brands.

It is thought that as well as spending the £4.5m to buy Keystone’s breweries, a further £2m will be invested “to restore the business back to growth”.

Keystone had been brewing at Black Sheep Brewery, in Masham, Yorkshire, and Purity Brewing, in Alcester, Warwickshire. Current Keystone jobs are said to be safe.
