Vault City Brewing has brought back cult favourite Buckie Bomb after fans demanded its return across social media channel Reddit.

Vault City Buckie Bomb

Inspired by the legendary Buckie Bomb cocktail, made by mixing Buckfast Tonic Wine with Irn-Bru, the beer offers a playful nod to one of Scotland’s most recognisable flavour combinations, with the brewer’s signature sour base.

The 7.8% ABV sour delivers tangy Buckie vibes with juicy blackberries, subtle caffeine notes, and layers of sweet, dark stewed fruits, citrus, and bubblegum.

The new release also features eye-catching label artwork by Scottish illustrator Stuart Allan, who reimagined the cult can after the success of the original launch.

“Buckie is one of those beers that people never stopped talking about,” said Vault City Brewing co-founder Steven Hay-Smith. “We kept seeing it pop up on Reddit and in our DMs, with folk asking when it was coming back.

“After the success of the original release and the sheer volume of people asking about it, it felt like the right time to bring it back. Buckie Bomb has become a bit of a talking point, and that response comes from people recognising something familiar, reimagined in a playful way. It’s our sour take on a cultural icon, and people really connect with that.”

To mark the launch, Vault City has teamed up with Thiccc Sauce to release a limited-edition Buckie barbecue glaze, infused with familiar Buckie-style flavours, expanding the release beyond beer into food and gifting.
