The owners of Herefordshire-based Wye Valley Brewery are about to embark on their largest programme of investment yet.

The Wye Valley Brewery team
Following its 40th anniversary celebrations, the Stoke Lacy business is planning significant developments over the next three years. These include:
- A new visitor centre and taproom
- Improved staff welfare facilities and new office buildings
- Expanded warehouse capacity
- A new effluent treatment plant
- Additional solar panels
- And a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient brewhouse, designed to eliminate fossil fuel use in brewing
Managing director, Vernon Amor, emphasised that the brewery remains fully committed to cask ale, using all-British malted barley and locally-grown hops.
Reflecting on the company’s journey, Vernon — who started as Wye Valley Brewery’s sixth employee — extended his thanks to the 77-strong team who have contributed to the brewery’s continued success over four decades.
The new brewhouse will be built at the brewery’s Stoke Lacy site. Operations have been based there since a move from The Barrels. after acquiring the site from Symonds in the early 2000s.
