Verdant has brought back two popular brews made with a former experimental New Zealand hop which has become a brewery favourite.

Indeed, the Cornish brewers like NZH-101 so much, they have purchased the entire remaining stock from their NZ hop supplier.
Verdant are the only brewery in the world currently using NZH-101 until its next harvest in 2026, a crop they’ve already largely secured.
Vanity Metrics, a 4.9% ABV pale ale, made its debut last year, part of Verdant’s Small Batch Project. It’s a soft and fruity beer that expresses itself like a dank limey lemonade.
“With all these NZH-101 hops at our disposal, we decided Vanity Metrics deserved a big brother – a DIPA kind of brother,” says the brewer.
“For Touch Grass (8% ABV), we tweaked the Vanity Metrics recipe, adding some more complex layers of flavours to work alongside the bigger mouthfeel. Joining NZH-101 and amping up the funk and fruit, we have superstars Citra and Nelson Sauvin.”
