Sharp’s Brewing Co has racked up an impressive haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals at the World Beer Awards and International Beer Challenge.

Sharp's Chalky's Bite

There were standout performances across the portfolio, but particularly for Chalky’s Bite and Doom Bar, which were recipients of accolades in both competitions.

Sharp’s brought home two major gold country awards for Chalky’s Bite, the brewery’s collaboration with Padstow neighbour Rick Stein, and for amber ale Doom Bar. Atlantic, Sharp’s pale ale, earned a silver award.

Chalky’s Bite, the vibrant Belgian-style beer named in honour of seafood chef Rick Stein’s dog, is conditioned on a bed of three hop varieties and fennel seeds, making it a favourite among beer enthusiasts. It is Sharp’s most celebrated beer across the entire portfolio, having won more than 25 awards since launching in 2006.

Sharp's Doom Bar

At the International Beer Challenge, Sharp’s received a number of Taste medals, taking five bronze ale awards for Chalky’s Bite, Doom Bar and Atlantic. There was an additional bronze lager category award for Offshore, Sharp’s pale straw beer with a herbal lemon aroma, and another bronze for Doom Bar Zero in the no- or low-alcohol section.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have received another eight medals across this year’s International Beer Challenge and World Beer Awards,” said Sharp’s technical brewing optimisation manager, Jonathan Wide.

“At Sharp’s, we pride ourselves on creating high-quality, innovative beers, and to see our efforts recognised on an international scale is a true testament to the hard work and passion of our brewing team.”
