This is the first time the brewery has entered the competition, and their debut was marked with success across both taste and design categories.

In terms of taste, there was bronze for Gem State of Mind, a 6.5% ABV NEIPA. On the design front, there were: two silvers and a bronze for Archetype, a 6% ABV IPA; two silvers and a bronze for Gem State of Mind; two silvers and a bronze for Lemondrop, a 4.7% ABV pilsner; and a silver for the can range as a whole.

“To be recognised on an international stage so soon after our launch is an incredible honour,” said Richard. “This is a real boost for us as we continue to share our beers with more people across the UK.”

The striking can designs were brought to life by Tiger Systems’ design duo Kris Hunt and Georgina Cheshire.

Founded in Chorlton, Manchester, in 2024, Tūn Brewing Co is built on the idea of “drinking with purpose”. Alston, a psychiatrist by training, brings a unique perspective to the beer industry. Having spent years observing Britain’s complex drinking culture, he believes now is a pivotal moment to reshape our relationship with alcohol.

“Beer should be something that brings people together — to connect, to celebrate, to savour — not just a means to excess,” he said. His vision for Tūn Brewing is to foster healthier, more mindful drinking habits, while still championing the creativity and community that define the craft beer scene.
