This partnership, which gets under way on 1st July, represents a key milestone for both companies. Stiegl is one of Europe’s oldest privately-owned breweries, widely respected for its commitment to traditional brewing techniques, natural ingredients, and exceptional product quality.
With Cave Direct’s established nationwide distribution network and long-standing relationships across the on- and off-trade, Stiegl is now well positioned to expand its presence in the UK market.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Stiegl to the Cave Direct family,” said Laurence Smale, director at Cave Direct. “We’ve long admired Stiegl’s rich heritage and commitment to exceptional beer quality, so it’s a real privilege to now represent such an iconic brewery in the UK. We’re excited to bring more of Austria’s finest beer to British drinkers.”
The exclusive agreement will allow Cave Direct to support Stiegl with focused brand-building activity in the UK, including staff training, in-market activations, and trade events.

Florian Schmidhuber, export director at Stiegl Brewery, said: “At Stiegl, we’ve remained proudly independent since 1492, with a deep-rooted commitment to quality, tradition, and doing things the right way. That’s why we’re so pleased to be partnering with Cave Direct, whose own rich history, independent spirit, and dedication to exceptional beer make them a perfect match for Stiegl.
“Together, we look forward to sharing our beers with more people across the UK who value authenticity as much as we do.”
The Stiegl portolio includes its flagship Goldbräu Lager, the much-loved Stiegl Grapefruit Radler as well as a selection of seasonal releases.
