Independent breweries in the UK will now be able to measure and manage their carbon emissions more effectively thanks to a new free tool launched today.

Zevero Lite, which is being unveiled at BeerX, provides an accessible starting point for breweries to begin their decarbonisation journey.

The tool has been developed by Zevero, a leading provider of carbon management solutions, in partnership with the Society of Independent Breweries and Associates (SIBA). It will be available for free for all SIBA members as part of the organisation’s commitment to support the independent brewing industry’s transition to net zero.

“Independent brewers have always been at the forefront of innovation, but navigating sustainability can be daunting without the right tools,” said Andy Slee, chief executive of SIBA.

“We have committed, as part of SIBA’s Sustainability Strategy, to help support the independent brewing sector to achieve net zero, and believe that Zevero Lite will enable many of our members to begin their decarbonisation journey with confidence.”

Zevero Lite allows brewers to:

  • Accurately calculate emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and specific categories of Scope 3;
  • Identify high-impact emission sources and prioritise reduction opportunities;
  • Streamline reporting for supermarket survey tools and B Corp assessments.
