Verdant is returning to London for the first time since the closure of The Experiment, its collaboration bar with Pressure Drop, in 2023.

Ever since, fans have been clamouring for the Cornish brewer to re-establish a presence in London, and now their call has been answered.
Last year, Verdant met Oli Meade, owner of Craft Metropolis and long-time fan of the brewery. Craft Metropolis is a classic “hobby-got-out-of-hand” story, that is now nearly a decade old. It comprises an online webshop and two quirky bars in London, crammed with far-flung delights and hard-to-find beers. The meeting sparked the idea of a Verdant residency at Craft Metropolis Brixton.
Tucked away down a quiet alley near Loughborough Junction, the bar is in a tall railway arch with outdoor space, full of character. It can accommodate parties of up to 100 people and hosts live music, films, and sport screenings. The bar also serves 12 taps of beer, organic wines, local spirits, and cocktails, all paired with sourdough pizzas made by pizzaiolos from Yard Sale.
During Verdant’s residency, at least six taps will pour their freshest kegs and casks, with weekly exclusives dropping every Friday. Verdant will also bring special small-batch and limited-edition beers, some of which will be exclusive to the Verdant Taproom and Craft Metropolis. Customers will be able to buy exclusive Verdant merchandise and cans, too.
Alongside this, the Verdant team will host in-person launch events and Friday beer tastings.
“This residency has been born out of a desire to create a new destination in London that offers something a little different, and when Oliver approached me with an idea of working together I was excited by the possibilities,” said Verdant’s London and South sales manager, Paul McTernan.
“Craft Metropolis Brixton is full of character and good vibes. Together we can create an amazing community space for people to gather while enjoying the freshest and best Verdant beers available. I’m excited for the future of the partnership!”
Verdant in Residence at Craft Metropolis will open on Saturday (22nd February) for a minimum of six months.
